The Baman Nayak Sports Foundation was founded in 2017 by Laxman Raathod, a passionate sports enthusiast and humanitarian who dedicated his life to supporting underprivileged children in rural and tribal areas. The foundation was inspired by the memory of his younger brother, who tragically lost his life in a road accident. Registered under No. 892/2017, the foundation is committed to empowering children through education and sports, enabling them to reach national and international levels.
Born in a rural tribal village, Baman Nayak exhibited exceptional talent in sports from an early age. Despite humble beginnings, he excelled in athletics, representing his school and state in national-level sports competitions. His dedication and perseverance led him to secure a position as a police constable in APSP, which allowed him to support his family. However, after the sudden demise of his father, he took on the responsibility of his family, resigning from his job to ensure his younger brother received higher education. His brother later earned a doctorate in physical education and secured employment, but fate struck again when he passed away in a tragic accident on March 23, 2017. Determined to keep his brother’s legacy alive, Baman Nayak established the Baman Nayak Sports Foundation to help talented but underprivileged children access sports training and education. His vision is to uplift orphaned and poor children, providing them with the resources to excel in both academics and sports.
